We’ve had a busy summer making improvements at our main car store. If you’ve been to see us you’ll have seen the new epoxy floor in a fetching shade of blue. It’s really brightened up the space and is a much easier surface to keep clean.
We spent a long time weighing up different options. Clickable tiles seemed like an easy-fit solution but were priced prohibitively and we’ve heard poor reports from customers using them in their own garages – hard to keep clean with a tendency to collect dust and grease.
Despite the extra work required to get the two-part epoxy floor in place we’re really pleased with the results. The smooth surface makes using the Stringo car mover much easier too.

Lights, camera, action
We’re creating a dedicated detailing and photography bay in the main store so we can keep working on cars while avoiding the worst of the winter weather. Both stores are getting new LED lights with extra lighting for the detailing bay.
We’ve installed a new CCTV system which gives a much clearer view of the whole site and also has automatic number plate recognition.
We’ve welcomed a new resident mechanic to the store– Richard started here last month. He’s got 20+ years of experience working on everything from Morgans to motorbikes. While we’re quietening down after a busy summer customers are using the time to sort out repairs and servicing. Richard is ready to help or we can arrange work with local specialists as required. Let us know if you’ve any jobs you want doing over the winter – we’re offering introductory rates for MOTs and servicing.The trimmers are also keeping busy too sorting upholstery, interiors and soft tops for customers.
We had a great day last month with the team from Solent Sky Services filming some videos showing the services we offer – the results are on the front page, storage section and other services pages. We’ll have a dedicated post on how the filming went up shortly.

Moving to monthly direct debits
One last bit of news. We’re changing the ways that you can pay us. If you would like to move to a monthly direct debit instead of quarterly bills please email: Amanda @classiccarstorage.co.uk. But if you’re happy with quarterly bills there’s no need to change. Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to accept American Express due to increased charges.
